Sochi, Russia: People Skiing In Underwear

Hundreds of brave snow sports enthusiasts took to the slopes in bikinis and swimming trunks for the annual BoogelWoogel alpine festival in Sochi, Russia. Participants spent the week taking part in the festival while braving the 9 C temperatures and wearing almost nothing in the snow. The annual event, which takes place at the Rosa Khutor resort, started on Wednesday and will run until Sunday.

Now in its sixth year, BoogelWoogel made international headlines in 2018 when nearly 2,000 skiers broke the Guinness world record for the world’s largest downhill ski in swimsuits.  Some 30,000 were believed to have visited the resort for the four day festival in 2019, and revellers followed an orchestra on skis and snowboards as they descended to musical accompaniment.
